Much of Shale Patch Expects $60 Oil at Year-End, Survey Says
- Some 25% of respondents see oil at $55 or $65 a barrel
- US oil approaching level at which drilling may be unprofitable
Many in the shale patch expect US oil prices to end 2025 near current levels, according to a live survey of attendees at the Super DUG Conference & Expo in Fort Worth, Texas.
About 42% of respondents see West Texas Intermediate crude ending the year at $60 a barrel, compared with around $63 today, according to a survey by conference organizers. Some 25% said they expect $55 oil, while another roughly 25% said they see oil reaching $65 or more.
