Thames Water Utilities Ltd. — which serves about a quarter of the UK including London — said it can’t rule out needing to ask customers to restrict water usage this summer.

“I am confident we won’t run out of water, I am not confident that we won’t have to restrict usage because that will depend on what the weather does and what rainfall does between now and the summer,” Chief Executive Officer Chris Weston told UK lawmakers. The warning comes as Britain’s reservoir levels and river flows come under pressure from unseasonably dry weather.
