German Solar Power Generation Surges on Monday

Power production from Germany’s many thousands of solar panels jumped to near a record on Monday.

Output reached as much as 47,817 megawatts just before noon Berlin time, according to data from the European Energy Exchange AG. That compares with a record of about 48,780 megawatts in July last year. Germany is Europe’s leader in renewable energy.
