President Donald Trump announced he was appointing Fox News host Jeanine Pirro as the interim US Attorney for the District of Columbia, after pulling the nomination of Ed Martin amid congressional opposition.

Pirro, a former district attorney and judge from Westchester County, New York, has been at the cable network since 2006.
