Potato prices in Russia should begin to decline from record highs starting in July owing to the harvesting of early crops and imports, the agriculture minister said.

Average prices for the vegetable jumped almost 50% at the end of April from the start of the year after climbing 92% in 2024, according to data from the Federal Statistics Service. The surge came after the 2024 domestic crop was affected by adverse weather and was about 1 million tons lower than the previous year.
