Italy to Reach 2% Defense Spending Target This Year, Meloni Says

Italy will increase its defense spending to reach NATO’s target of 2% of gross domestic product this year, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said.

“Italy will reach the target already in the course of 2025,” Meloni told lawmakers in Rome on Wednesday.
