University students in Serbia who have spearheaded months of street rallies against the government are now demanding early elections, posing a new challenge to the dominance of President Aleksandar Vucic.

The leaderless, informal organization gathering activists from several state-funded universities called in a statement on X for the “immediate dissolution” of parliament. A few opposition parties expressed support for the demand, although no contenders have been named. Regular elections are scheduled for 2027.
