Ringgit Less a Worry for Malaysia Exporters Amid Front-Loading

The ringgit’s recent rally will have little impact on Malaysia’s exports as companies scramble to front-load shipments ahead of President Donald Trump’s tariff hikes, according to a minister.

The Malaysian currency is the biggest gainer after its Taiwanese counterpart this month as Trump’s tariff policy clouds the US economic outlook and saps confidence in the dollar. Still, the ringgit’s level is still “within the band where it’s not serious,” Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Zafrul Aziz said.
