FCC’s Carr Calls for Spectrum, AI Leadership in China Race

The Trump administration is focused on freeing up more electromagnetic spectrum to power wireless communication, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission said on Monday, a move that could generate $80 billion in government revenue and help the US better compete with China.

Members of the US Congress like Senator Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, are aligned with the administration and the FCC on the need to get more commercial spectrum into the hands of wireless companies and to help offset national budget constraints, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said on Bloomberg TV.
