Brazil Economists Cut Interest-Rate Forecast on Eve of Policy Meeting

Brazil economists cut their 2025 year-end benchmark interest rate forecast just hours before central bankers gather to start debating the size of their next — and perhaps last — borrowing cost hike of their cycle.
The Selic will reach 14.75% in December, down from the previous estimate of 15%, according to a weekly survey of analysts published by the central bank on Monday. Brazil economists also ticked down their inflation forecast for the end of this year to 5.53%, marking the third straight drop.
