T. Rowe CEO Says ‘No Question’ Private Assets Coming to 401(k)s

T. Rowe Price Group Inc. Chief Executive Officer Rob Sharps said private assets will definitely come to retirement accounts, and the $1.6 trillion manager is scouting partnerships with alternative investment managers.
“There’s no question that eventually it will happen,” Sharps told analysts after the firm reported its first-quarter results. “It does make sense that 401(k) participants and retirement investors would trade liquidity for return, given the very long time horizons that retirement investors have.”
