One of the world’s biggest manganese mines, located on an island off Australia’s northern coast, is poised to restart shipments after being shuttered for more than a year because of damage from a cyclone.
The Groote Eylandt Mining Co. project — 60% held by South32 Ltd., 40% by Anglo American Plc — will restart shipments this month, according to people familiar with the matter, who didn’t want to be identified discussing private information.
