Instacart has acquired Wynshop Inc., an e-commerce platform for US grocery chains, adding to the delivery company’s growing software business for retailers.

An Instacart spokesperson declined to comment on the deal size or other terms, but company executives will likely discuss the acquisition during a call with analysts after it reports first-quarter earnings later Thursday. Wynshop will initially operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Instacart and Instacart will not immediately recognize gross transaction value from Wynshop, the delivery company said in a statement Thursday.
