Finns Turn More Negative on NATO Security Guarantees, Poll Shows

Fewer Finns have faith in NATO’s security guarantees after President Donald Trump cast doubt over whether the US would unconditionally defend allies in the event of an attack, according to a recent poll.

A third of Finns now believe in the deterrent effect of the collective defense rule of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, down from about a half just a year and a half ago, according to a poll commissioned by the Finnish Business and Policy Forum EVA and published on Tuesday.
