Deutsche Bank’s DWS Can Now Consider Buying a Rival, CEO Says

DWS Group Chief Executive Officer Stefan Hoops said the time has come for the firm to buy a competitor, potentially adding Germany’s largest asset manager to the consolidation wave sweeping the industry.
“A lot of the internal homework we had to do” to achieve a strong position for acquisitions “is behind us,” Hoops said in an interview on Wednesday. The firm also has “enough excess capital” for larger deals, he said.
