Cellnex CEO Sees Overhaul Done by Year End, Eyes Growth in UK

Cellnex Telecom SA’s chief executive officer said a sweeping overhaul where the company sold off assets will be largely complete by the end of this year, and that the company could look to markets including the UK, the Netherlands and Spain for more growth.

“The big change is going to be almost done at the end of this year,” Marco Patuano, CEO of the Barcelona-based telecom company, said in an interview with Bloomberg News. Europe’s largest tower operator will then start “phase three” focusing on “non-M&A growth,” he said. That will include making the company’s portfolio of wireless towers more dense and expanding into more rural areas, improving service for its telecom operator customers.
