CFA Final Pass Rate Rises to 49% as Test-Takers Choose Specialty

The pass rate for the final level of the chartered financial analyst exam — the first in which test-takers were given a choice of specialty — rose slightly while remaining below the historic average.

In February, 49% of candidates passed the Level III test, up from 48% for those who sat for the exam in August and unchanged from the 49% for candidates who took it a year earlier, the CFA Institute said Tuesday.
