Limestone University in South Carolina is at a crossroads: The 179-year-old school needs $6 million by Tuesday to continue all of its existing programs.
Randall Richardson, chair of Limestone’s board of trustees, said in a statement last week that without the lifeline, leadership “will have no choice but to move all operations online, which means closing our physical campus.” The school also said full closure “remains a risk.” Like other small, liberal arts colleges in the US, Limestone is facing mounting stress.
