Tanzania Threatens to Block South Africa, Malawi Farming Imports

Tanzania will impose trade barriers on agricultural imports from South Africa and Malawi if the two countries don’t lift restrictions on shipments from the East African nation.

Agriculture Minister Hussein Bashe has given Pretoria and Lilongwe until Wednesday next week to remove non-tariff barriers on Tanzanian produce or it will restrict all farming imports from the countries, he said in a post on X.
