Former Peruvian President Ollanta Humala was sentenced to 15 years in prison for money laundering Tuesday, a key victory for anti-graft prosecutors.

Humala was accused of laundering illicit campaign contributions from Venezuela and Brazilian construction conglomerate Odebrecht to finance his presidential bids in 2006 and 2011. He governed Peru between 2011 and 2016 on a left-wing platform.
