Crypto exchange Kraken, which is planning to go public early next year, has expanded beyond digital assets and into trading of US stocks and exchange-traded funds through a brokerage partnership.
Working with Alpaca, Kraken has started its initial rollout of commission-free trading for more than 11,000 US-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds to clients in select states including New Jersey, Connecticut, Wyoming and Rhode Island. It plans to make the offering available to all eligible US clients, and eventually take it to the UK, the rest of Europe and Australia.
