Alexico Fields $1 Billion Offer for New York’s Mark Hotel

Alexico Group has fielded a takeover offer for The Mark, the Upper East Side property which describes itself as “New York’s Most Boldly Lavish Hotel,” according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The developer has received an offer of about $1 billion for the hotel through an adviser, said one of the people, all of whom asked not to be identified discussing private information. No final decisions have been made and Alexico could opt to retain ownership of the property.
