Federal Reserve Bank of Boston President Susan Collins said tariffs on imported goods will have a wider impact on prices than many Americans anticipate.

“It’s really important to take into account the fact that tariffs are applied not just to final goods that are imported, but also the imported intermediates,” which account for 44% of all imports, Collins said Friday in an interview on Yahoo Finance. “Those imports are much more broad based than many people realize.”
