President Donald Trump’s decision to oust the National Security Agency’s top two leaders was a concerning move that came with little public explanation, said Paul Nakasone, who led the powerful agency until retiring last year.

Nakasone spoke as the intelligence community continues to reel following last week’s firings of Air Force General Timothy Haugh as NSA chief and head of US Cyber Command, along with his civilian deputy Wendy Noble. The two were dismissed after Trump met with a far-right activist, The Washington Post reported.
