Slovakia moved a step closer to changing its constitution in a way that could further curb the standing of gay and trans-gender people.
Lawmakers on Wednesday voted to continue debating a legislative proposal that seeks to enshrine only two genders — male and female. It would also limit the right to adopt small children to married people, effectively excluding same-sex couples, who are not allowed to get married in Slovakia.
