The Replicator initiative, aimed at producing thousands of armed drones to blunt China’s military power in the Western Pacific is “alive and well” under the Pentagon’s new leadership, according to a senior Navy admiral.

The service is working with the US Indo-Pacific Command on “developing the concept of operations” for how the pilotless aircraft would be employed, Vice Admiral Blake Converse, deputy commander of US Pacific Fleet, told Bloomberg News in brief remarks after a panel discussion at the annual Navy League Sea-Air-Space conference.
