Trump Administration Threatens US Public School Funding Over DEI

The Trump administration is ordering state education officials to confirm the elimination of all diversity, equity, and inclusion programs or risk losing federal funding.
The US Department of Education sent a letter to state commissioners who oversee K-12 public education agencies warning them that they are in jeopardy of losing financing if they do not remove DEI programs within 10 days, a Thursday memo said. Schools with higher concentrations of low-income students that get a bigger percentage of their funds from so-called Title I, part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, are at risk.
