Shares of UK clean energy company SSE Plc are at risk of falling if a move to a zonal electricity market slows the rollout of renewables, according to analysts at several major banks.
The firm, one of the UK’s biggest renewables developers, would face uncertainty over how wind farms and other assets are remunerated if the proposal for varying prices across regions comes to fruition. That could shave at least a tenth off SSE’s share price, analysts at Barclays Plc and JPMorgan Chase & Co. said.
