The US has filed a civil forfeiture complaint for $47 million in proceeds from the sale last year of around 1 million barrels of oil allegedly from Iran, which was stored in Croatia.

The complaint alleges a scheme between 2022 and 2024 to facilitate the shipment, storage, and sale of Iranian petroleum for the benefit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its Qods Force, according to a statement from the US Attorney’s Office. Both are designated terrorist groups.
