French prosecutors said that ex-President Nicolas Sarkozy should be found guilty and sent to jail for seven years over allegations his 2007 winning campaign was covertly funded by millions of euros from the late Moammar Qaddafi’s regime.
The Parquet National Financier officials said Thursday that, in addition, Sarkozy should be fined €300,000 ($323,900) for his role in the alleged conspiracy to use money embezzled from Libya.
