ECB’s Guindos Says It’s Too Soon to Predict April Rate Decision

It’s too early to say whether the European Central Bank should cut interest rates again next month or pause as global trade friction and government spending plans in Europe fuel uncertainty, Vice President Luis de Guindos said.
“Today it’s very difficult to say what we’re going to do in April,” Guindos told an event in Brussels. “We’ll see the data, we’ll see how the different elements are evolving. I hope that we’ll have more clarity with respect to the final outcome in terms of tariffs. And then we will decide accordingly.”
