London Heathrow Airport failed to do what a nearby data center, a century-old aluminum smelter and a typical UK trauma hospital are all capable of.

Europe’s busiest airport lost power due to a March 20 fire at a connecting substation, and it took nearly an entire day to return to full strength. Not so at the nearby Union Park data center, which draws electricity from the same grid point and has almost as much capacity as Heathrow.
