Egypt’s economy grew at its fastest quarterly pace in more than two years, buoyed by an unprecedented wave of foreign assistance and a greater focus on local industry and exports.

Gross domestic product increased 4.3% year-on-year in the final three months of 2024, up from 2.3% the previous year, the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation said Wednesday. It was the highest rate since the third quarter of 2022, shortly after the North African country plunged into an economic crisis.
