Swiss Government Rejects Population Cap, Fighting Largest Party

Switzerland’s government rejected a proposal from the country’s largest political party to cap the population, diminishing the plan’s chances of passing in a national vote.
The limit would damage prosperity, economic growth and security in Switzerland, it said in a statement on Friday and recommended that lawmakers and voters should turn down the idea.
