Trump Extends Deadline to Halt Congestion Pricing, Threatens Funds
The White House threatened to withhold federal funding from the MTA if the agency doesn’t comply with a request for information on transit crime.
Photographer: Michael Nagle/BloombergThe Trump administration has reiterated a demand for New York to end its congestion pricing program, providing officials with a 30-day extension to turn off the tolls.
So far, the state and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, have refused to comply with a Friday deadline to halt the program. MTA Chief Executive Officer, Janno Lieber has previously said the program will remain in effect until there is a court decision on the matter.
