South Africa’s two largest political parties are holding a series of talks to resolve an impasse over the national budget that poses the biggest threat yet to the stability of the country’s ruling alliance.
Negotiating teams for the African National Congress and Democratic Alliance hope to reach a compromise before the fiscal framework for the budget is due to be presented to lawmakers at the beginning of next month.
