A federal judge in New York denied Live Nation Entertainment Inc.’s attempt to narrow the Justice Department’s antitrust case seeking to break off Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc. after the companies merged more than 15 years ago.

In a seven page-ruling on Friday, US District Judge Arun Subramanian rejected Live Nation’s bid to throw out a claim that it forces artists to use its promotion services if they want to perform at the company’s venues, as well as related damages claims from state attorneys general.
