China Is Seen as More Menacing Than US Tariffs for Latin America's Steelmakers

One of Brazil’s major steelmakers says the “unfair” influx of cheap Chinese steel is a bigger issue than US tariffs for the South American nation.
“Brazil is still the world’s backyard for China to send materials,” CSN executive Luiz Fernando Martinez said Thursday on an earnings call. US trade restrictions on steel from Brazil are of secondary concern compared to the imbalance of imports coming from Beijing, he added.
