FC Barcelona hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc. to explore ways to reduce the cost of the debt used for the ongoing revamp of the football club’s historic Camp Nou stadium, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Wall Street bank recently met with lenders to provide a construction update. The club wants to ultimately reduce interest payments through a partial refinancing of the €1.45 billion ($1.58 billion) in debt it raised in 2023 to finance the project, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing private information.
