Jeffrey Epstein often knew more about what was going on at the top levels of JPMorgan Chase & Co. than Jes Staley, one of the Wall Street bank’s most senior executives for more than a decade.

Staley claimed Epstein had a “remarkable ability” to gather information from the finance industry and was able to tell him things about his own career, according to his witness statement filed at a London court.
