UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is planning a second meeting of allies considering sending peacekeeping troops to Ukraine as part of any postwar settlement, his spokesman said on Monday.

The virtual meeting — expected on Saturday — will bring together leaders of NATO and Commonwealth countries who are prepared to contribute military forces toward a so-called “coalition of the willing,” the spokesman, Dave Pares, told reporters in London. The aim is for the troops to help maintain the peace in Ukraine if US President Donald Trump succeeds in his efforts to broker an end to the grinding conflict sparked by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine three years ago.
