Workday Billionaire Duffield Donates $100 Million to Cornell
The gift will help expand the Ivy League school’s engineering college, adding research space for quantum computing and artificial intelligence.

Billionaire David Duffield is giving $100 million to help his alma mater Cornell University expand its engineering college.
The donation from the 84-year-old co-founder of human resources software firms PeopleSoft Inc. and Workday Inc. is the largest in the engineering college’s history and will expand the existing Duffield Hall, providing more than 130,000 square feet of new and renovated teaching and research space for quantum computing and artificial intelligence, according to a statement.
