BBVA Gets Regulatory Approval to Offer Crypto in Spain

BBVA SA plans to offer retail clients in Spain access to cryptocurrencies, after receiving regulatory approval from market supervisor CNMV to provide custody and execution services for such assets.
Spain’s second-biggest bank is preparing a new offering to let clients buy, sell and manage Bitcoin and Ether transactions through its app. It will be initially rolled out to a small group of customers before being extended to all private clients in Spain over the coming months, the lender said in a statement Monday.
