Bank of Russia Says Local Markets Lifted by Geopolitical Hopes

Increased expectations of a drop in geopolitical tension fueled gains for Russia’s financial markets last month, with the ruble notching up “significant” gains, according to the central bank.

“A positive trend was observed in all segments of the financial market,” the Bank of Russia said Monday in a report.
