Support for UK to Raise Defense Spending Grows, Ipsos Poll Shows

Approval among Britons for the UK to increase defense spending has risen, even if it means more burden on taxpayers, an Ipsos poll showed.

Some 44% say such spending should be increased, even if it results in extra government borrowing, higher taxes, or less money for other public services, Ipsos said. That’s up from 42% in February. Meanwhile, 59% of respondents support the UK’s current role in the Ukraine conflict, up from 53% last month.
