Romanian Far-Right Candidate Applies to Enter Presidential Race

Romania’s far-right presidential frontrunner Calin Georgescu submitted his candidacy for May’s election, as uncertainty lingers around whether he’ll be allowed to run due to recent criminal charges.

“Everyone is watching Romania and how the corrupt system acted,” said Georgescu on Friday. “They can’t afford to repeat the mistake that destroyed democracy.”
