Trump Congress Speech Gets 36.6 Million Viewers, Tops Biden
Trump’s speech had a theme of “the renewal of the American dream” and covered the president’s decision to levy new tariffs on Canada and Mexico.

More than 36.6 million people watched President Donald Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, according to Nielsen ratings. It was the first time the president addressed the legislative branch after taking office for his second term in January.
The figure represented a 36% increase compared with the 26.9 million people who viewed former President Joe Biden’s first address to Congress in April 2021, according to Nielsen. Trump’s first address from his last presidential term had 47.7 million viewers in February 2017.
