Ireland Plans to Ease Defense Rules to Support Ukraine

Ireland’s government will propose changes to its rules for sending troops abroad, as the neutral country ramps up its practical support for Ukraine.

It wants to tweak the so-called “triple lock,” a three-step mechanism for sending Irish peacekeeping forces abroad that requires a United Nations resolution along with government sign-off and approval from the parliament.
