The year’s blistering start for European block trades is expected to widen out as corporations look to raise funding for acquisitions and to return cash to shareholders.

A record-breaking stock rally has fueled stake sales in the region to a 20-year high, with deals raising about $15.5 billion since the beginning of January, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Companies offloading stakes in spinoffs has been a key driver.
