At least 24 senior leaders of the Social Security Administration have announced their departures, as the government pension agency unveiled a reorganization plan to streamline bureaucracy under a mandate from President Donald Trump.

The overhaul will also result in about 7,000 job cuts throughout the agency, which could come from early retirements and resignations — but also dismissals. The agency now employs about 57,000 people, with about 90% working in offices outside of its headquarters near Baltimore.
